Product Overview
The 15kV Front Plug Type Quick Plug is a front-access quick-disconnect connector designed specifically for 10kV/15kV medium-voltage power distribution systems. It is compatible with the front-access receptacles of ring main units, cable junction boxes, and similar equipment, and supports rapid mating with bypass operation equipment and emergency generator vehicles. This connector enables live-line bypass operations and emergency power supply, making it a critical component for uninterrupted maintenance of medium-voltage distribution systems.
Product Features
Electrical and Insulation Performance
Manufactured using high-performance EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) rubber by integral injection molding with no seams or air gaps, delivering excellent insulation performance. The connector withstands the rated voltage and transient overvoltages of 15kV systems, meets the operational requirements of a maximum working voltage of 17.5kV, and achieves a partial discharge level of ≤10pC (at 1.5U₀).
High-purity copper conductive contacts are integrated internally, offering excellent conductivity and low contact resistance. The connector supports rated currents of 250A/630A, ensuring long-term operation without overheating or oxidation to meet high-current bypass power supply demands.
An integrated electric field optimization structure and stress control layer are incorporated internally to achieve uniform field distribution at the interface, effectively suppressing partial discharge and eliminating the risk of long-term electrical erosion or dielectric breakdown, ensuring stable and reliable insulation performance.
Structural and Safety Features
Standardized T-type front-plug structural design, strictly compliant with GB/T 12706 and IEC 60840 standards, ensuring universal interchangeability with the front-access receptacles of mainstream 15kV ring main units and cable junction boxes, with strong compatibility.
Integrated modular structural design with a quick-lock connection mechanism enables rapid mating and disconnection of equipment receptacles and bypass cables without additional tools, significantly reducing the construction time for live-line bypass operations.
A built-in positioning and retention structure automatically locks upon full insertion, preventing loosening or disconnection during operation. An integrated grounding connection structure provides reliable grounding, effectively dissipating induced voltages and fault currents to enhance system safety.
Fully insulated, touchsafe design with high outer insulation strength allows direct contact with the housing during operation without risk of electric shock, ensuring the safety of operations and maintenance personnel.
Environmental and Weather Resistance
Excellent weatherability accommodates a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +90°C, with no degradation in rubber elasticity or insulation performance and no risk of cracking or embrittlement at extreme temperatures, suitable for both outdoor and indoor applications.
Moisture-proof, waterproof, dust-proof, and salt-fog resistant with an IP67 protection rating, enabling long-term stable operation in harsh environments including humid, dusty, and salt-fog conditions, unaffected by rainfall or condensation.
Anti-aging, UV-resistant, and ozone-corrosion resistant, with a service life exceeding 30 years, maintenance-free operation, and reduced long-term operations and maintenance costs.
Mechanical and Compatibility Features
High mechanical strength with impact and vibration resistance withstands mechanical stresses encountered during transport, installation, and operation without deformation or damage, with a seismic resistance rating of Grade 8.
Compatible with the front-access receptacles of 10kV/15kV ring main units, cable junction boxes, pad-mounted transformers, and similar equipment, with strong universality. Suitable for use with mainstream bypass cables, transition cables, and current diversion equipment.
Modular design supports repeated plug-and-unplug cycles for convenient maintenance and reduced equipment investment costs for live-line bypass operations.

Installation and Maintenance
Installation Requirements
Before installation, inspect the product appearance for cracks, damage, and voids, and verify that the insulation surface is undamaged. Inspect the conductive contacts and locking mechanism for rust, deformation, and proper operation of the locking mechanism.
Clean the inner surface of the front-access receptacle of the distribution equipment and the T-type front plug surface, removing grease, dust, and foreign matter, and ensure the interface is dry and clean. Clean the bypass cable interface surface, removing grease, dust, and foreign matter, and ensure the interface is dry and clean.
Apply a uniform coating of approved silicone grease lubricant to the outer surface of the interface to prevent damage to the insulation layer during installation.
Slowly insert the T-type front plug into the front-access receptacle of the distribution equipment until fully seated, and engage the positioning and retention locking mechanism. Connect the opposite end of the product to the bypass cable interface until fully seated, and engage the positioning and retention locking mechanism. Upon completion, verify there is no looseness or misalignment.
After installation, perform insulation resistance testing and power-frequency withstand voltage testing before placing the unit into service.
Maintenance Requirements
Periodically inspect the product appearance for cracks, damage, discharge marks, and contamination accumulation, and verify that connections to the distribution equipment receptacle and bypass cable interface are secure and free from looseness, and that the grounding terminal connection is reliable and free from corrosion.
Periodically test insulation resistance and contact resistance to verify compliance with performance requirements and detect potential faults in a timely manner.
Clean the product surface and interfaces, removing dust and contaminants, and maintain dry and clean insulation surfaces, avoiding exposure to grease and chemical substances.
