Le type a\u00e9rien est applicable aux lignes a\u00e9riennes (conducteurs nus et isol\u00e9s), tandis que le type c\u00e2ble est utilis\u00e9 sur les lignes de c\u00e2bles des postes de coupure, des appareillages de commutation et des postes de transformation en cabine.
