The CG3-10Q/85×170 indoor high-voltage live-line indicating device sensor (including models for high-altitude applications, such as the 160 and 170 variants) is a core component designed for 10kV indoor high-voltage electrical systems. Manufactured using an integrated epoxy resin vacuum casting process, it offers excellent insulation performance, mechanical strength, and environmental adaptability—including suitability for high-altitude conditions. Used in conjunction with live-line indication devices, it enables real-time monitoring and safety alerts regarding the live status of high-voltage circuits, serving as a critical safety component for equipment such as high-voltage switchgear and ring main units (RMUs).
II. Product Features
Insulation and Electrical Performance
Utilizes an integrated epoxy resin vacuum casting process, ensuring a void-free and bubble-free structure with stable insulation performance. It withstands the rated voltage and short-duration overvoltage of 10kV systems, maintaining an ample insulation margin.
Features stable capacitive characteristics and high compatibility with live-line indication devices, enabling accurate sensing of the circuit’s live status without the risk of false positives or missed detections.
Meets high-altitude design requirements; the insulation structure is optimized for low-pressure environments found at high elevations to prevent insulation failures such as corona discharge and flashover.
Mechanical and Structural Characteristics
Features an integrated shed (skirt) design that increases creepage distance and enhances resistance to pollution flashover and moisture, making it suitable for complex indoor environments.
Offers high mechanical strength and resistance to impact and vibration; it withstands mechanical stresses encountered during switchgear transport, installation, and operation without risk of cracking or deformation.
Compact structure allows for easy installation; it fits standard mounting dimensions for 10kV indoor high-voltage switchgear, ensuring strong compatibility.
Environmental Adaptability
Excellent weather resistance; operates reliably across a wide temperature range (-40°C to +70°C) without degradation of insulation or mechanical properties.
Resistant to moisture, mold, and salt spray, ensuring stable long-term operation in harsh indoor environments characterized by high humidity or dust.
High-altitude models are optimized for elevations between 3,000m and 5,000m, meeting insulation and operational requirements for low-pressure environments. 4. Safety and Reliability
Fully insulated structural design with no exposed live parts; eliminates the risk of electric shock to personnel and ensures safety during operation and maintenance.
Long service life and maintenance-free; exhibits no aging or performance degradation during long-term operation; high reliability.
Complies with national standards for high-voltage electrical equipment; passed type testing; safe and compliant.

IV. Scope of Application
Applicable Voltage Class: 10kV (7.2kV~12kV) indoor high-voltage AC systems. 2. Applicable Equipment: 10kV indoor high-voltage electrical equipment, such as indoor high-voltage switchgear (KYN28, XGN, etc.), ring main units (RMU), box-type substations, and high-voltage busbar cabinets.
Applicable Scenarios: ○ Conventional indoor high-voltage distribution rooms and substations; ○ Indoor high-voltage power stations and industrial/mining enterprise distribution systems in high-altitude regions (3,000m–5,000m); ○ High-voltage distribution systems in harsh indoor environments characterized by humidity, dust, or extreme temperatures; ○ Indoor high-voltage distribution equipment for new energy (photovoltaic, wind power) step-up stations.
Supporting Functions: Used in conjunction with high-voltage live-line indication devices to monitor the live status of high-voltage circuits and provide interlocking control; prevents misoperation and ensures safety during operation and maintenance.
V. Operating Conditions
Normal Operating Conditions
Altitude: Standard type ≤ 2,000m; high-altitude type 3,000m–5,000m;
Ambient temperature: -40°C to +70°C; daily average temperature ≤ +35°C;
Relative humidity: Daily average relative humidity ≤ 95%; monthly average relative humidity ≤ 90% (at 25°C);
Environmental conditions: Free from severe pollution, corrosive gases, flammable or explosive media, and severe vibration or shock;
Installation method: Vertical installation within the switchgear, with a reliable connection to the high-voltage busbar/conductor.
Special Operating Conditions (Customization Required)

Installation Requirements
Inspect the product’s exterior before installation; ensure there are no cracks, damage, or air bubbles, and that the insulation surface is intact;
Install vertically within the switchgear cabinet; securely fasten the base using bolts to ensure a firm installation;
Ensure a reliable connection between the top terminal and the high-voltage busbar/conductor, meeting contact resistance specifications;
Use shielded and insulated wiring for the connection between the sensor and the live-line indicator to prevent interference;
Conduct insulation resistance tests and power-frequency withstand voltage tests after installation; the product may only be put into operation after passing these tests.
Maintenance Requirements
Periodically inspect the product’s exterior for cracks, discharge marks, or accumulated dirt;
Periodically perform insulation resistance tests and power-frequency withstand voltage tests to ensure insulation performance meets standards;
Clean the product surface to remove dust and contaminants, keeping the insulation surface dry and clean;
Immediately take the product out of service and replace it if abnormalities such as cracks, damage, or discharge occur.
VII. Precautions
Installation, commissioning, and maintenance must be performed by qualified electrical personnel; operation by non-qualified personnel is strictly prohibited;
Before installation or maintenance, ensure the high-voltage circuit is completely de-energized and implement appropriate safety measures;
Products designed for high-altitude use must not be installed in areas exceeding their rated altitude range to prevent insulation failure;
Do not disassemble or modify the product without authorization; doing so will void the warranty and compromise safety;
During transport and storage, protect the product against moisture, vibration, and impact to prevent insulation damage.
